This is a great and versatile product. Primarily they are designed to lift bowls of hot food out of a microwave oven by holding onto the bowl cosy, at the diagonal corners, which goes into the microwave oven as well, positioned underneath your food bowl. So much easier than wrestling with oven gloves or a tea towel to lift out the hot dishes. Useful to all ages but a benefit to the young and elderly who may appreciate a little help.
Not only can the bowl cosies be used to protect hands (or laps ) from hot food whilst eating, by keeping the bowl of hot food inside the cosy, but, will also protect from bowls of cold food such as ice cream or gazpacho soup. A great addition to a TV dinner!
The bowl cosies can also be used as decorative items such as on a buffet table to display bowls of food in and to add colour and interest.
Be aware that if during cooking food/liquid breaches the top of the food bowl and spills onto the bowl cosy it may not provide the same protection.
The bowl cosies are made from 100% cotton fabrics with a polyester wadding as an insulating layer. They are approximately 19cms square and 25cms on the diagonal and are sized to be used with cereal/soup bowls and glass/ceramic baking bowls.
Machine washable at 30°. Best air dried over an upturned dish.
